The project ‘Our Traces’ aims to archive memories of Polish heroes living in Belgium. People who liberated this country with general Maczek, those who came here after the Second World War as soldiers or civilians to start a normal, ordinary life. These people fought on all European fronts, in the Warsaw Uprising, conspired, and stayed in concentration camps. Heroes are also for us those who have devoted their entire lives to hard work. Polish miners from Wallonia and Flanders, and participants of the subsequent waves of emigration from Poland who found their home in Belgium, all of them have a lot to talk about 20th century Polish emigration.
We want the memory to be saved not only in our memories, but also on electronic media. Thanks to this, generations who have not been able to listen to these stories live and those who have not yet discovered this knowledge will have access to Polish heritage abroad.
